Sketched Flowers Slim Line Card

This card features a stamp from the “Sketched Flowers” stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. This stamp is huge and is perfect (I thought) for a slim line card design.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers (YR4, YR7, YR9, 0; YG6, YG63, YG67; R83, R85, R89; BV02, BV04, BV08; V12, V15, V17; Y17, YR15, YR04).

The white focal panel and black mat were both cut with dies from the “Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles” set from Pinkfresh Studio.

The greeting strip is from a digital file called “Birthday Strips MODERN FONT” from The Ton. (Thank you, Bonnie!)

The finished card is 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and fits in a regular business size envelope. If you wish to create an envelope with a We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board, start with a 9 3/4″ square piece of paper and begin punching/scoring at 6 5/8″.

The current Modsquad Challenge is “Simple Focus” where we are encourged to use only one image on our card front as our only focal; no other embellishments except a greeting if we wish.

Stitched Tulips with Sentiment Strips to Print

This card features the “Stiched Tulip” die (#938-E) from Impression Obsession.

Patterned paper from Love Nicole and from the DCWV Essentials Stack was used along with white card stock that was embossed with the “Subtle” embossing folder (retired) from Stampin’ Up.

The greeting was computer generated and cut with a sentiment strip die by Alinacutle. This die came with a coordinating stamp, but I created my own sentiment sheet that I could customize as needed. This die cuts a bunch of strips (22!) with one pass through the die cut machine. You can either cut a bunch of blanks or a bunch of pre-printed ones to have ready for future projects.

You can also use this die to cut a single sentiment by stamping or typing a greeting on a scrap and then finding the one opening/portion of the die that fits.

Of course, you could also stamp the greetings that come with the die and cut/use those!

Because the strips have rounded corners, I was not able to cut a coordinating mat with my trimmer so I used the die to cut another strip (same size) from colored card stock and offset it for a shadow effect instead of a full mat.

Scribble Flowers Slim Line Mother’s Day Card

This slim line card features the “Slim Square Window Panel” Die from Creek Bank Creations along with dies from the “Spellbinders Classic Squares” (large and small) sets to create the layered squares in the window openings. These were cut from water color paper; I thought the thickness allowed the monotone layers to stand out a bit better.

The layers for the Scribble Flower Die cuts from Creek Bank Creations (no longer available?) were cut from GKD Edible Eggplant card stock and a sheet from the Recollections Purple Passions pack. The die cut highlighting the greeting is the “Antique Leaf Label” from Memory Box.

The greeting is from the “Spring Sentiment Stamp” Set (Creek Bank Creations) and was stamped with Gina K Designs WIld Lilac ink. The inside sentiment is from the “Beautiful Blizzard” set (retired) from Stampin’ Up.

This 8 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ card fits in a regular business size envelope. If you wish to use a We R Memory Keepers envelope punch to create your own envelope, start with a 10 1/8″ square and make initial punch/score at 3 1/4″.

Lucky Me Mother’s Day Card

This card features a stamp from the “Eight Great Greetings” set from Stampin’ Up (retired) which I stumbled upon while browsing on ebay. This stamp made me chuckle because it is so true! It’s a good thing my mom is awesome – lol!!

After embossing the background panel with the “Floral Border” embossing folder by Darice, I added ink to the raised flowers and dots using two “Fantastix” coloring tools by Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts. For the swirls and leaves, I created a mask and dabbed on the ink with a “Foam Ink Pod” by Darice. (A Fantastix could have been used for the swirls and leaves as well, but I kept getting ink where I didn’t want it and found the mask and pods easier to control for these larger areas. Yeah, several early attempts ended up in the trash…)

The two stamps used for the inside sentiment are unmarked red rubber stamps. I think I purchased them at Michaels years ago, but they are not on their site now.

The inks used were Gina K Designs Peach Bellini, Sweet Corn, and Fresh Asparagus. I also used a Copic Marker (R21) for the flower on the greeting panel. The clear sequins and pierced circle die were unbranded.

Camera Note Card

Camera Note Card

I needed a thank you note for a photographer friend who sent me some photos he had taken, and this is the card I made.

I used the “Vintage Photo” cut file I purchased from the Silhouette store. It came with the two panels to create the (silver and black textured) panels on the front, and I used those to create the shaped card base, an additional (black) panel so I could leave some areas untextured, and a plain white panel for a handwritten note on the inside.

Besides the black card base, there are 3 black layers to add depth to the center behind the acetate lens. I used the “Subtle” embossing folder from Stampin” Up for the texture. The Metallic Silver card stock is from Gina K Designs. I used curling ribbon for the strap.
