Sympathy Shutter Card

 Sympathy Shutter Card

I have seen quite a few variations of shutter cards online, but one style I really liked was done by Sandy Allnock where there is room for an “inside sentiment” or a handwritten message.  (HERE is her video tutorial.)

For this card, I used 2 sheets from the Recollections “Habitat” signature paper stack for my decorative panels and mats.  The card base is Recollections kraft card stock.  (The base is 12 inches wide, so a 12″ x 12″ sheet is needed.)

Here is the template for the card base:

The circle panels were cut with dies from the Spellbinders Large and Small Standard Circle Dies sets.

The stamp for the greeting on the front is from the Stampin’ Up “Thoughts and Prayers” set and the inside message is from the “A Beautiful Life” set from Gina K Designs.  Both were stamped with versafine vintage sepia ink.

The finished card, when folded, is 41/4 x 5 1/2 and fits in an A2 sized envelope.

I had a scrap of the patterned paper left over so I made another quick card with it.

Thanks for checking out my card project!

  1. An intricate, beautiful card conveying a heartfelt sentiment. The recipient of such a card would feel loved and comforted and appreciate the significant effort to express caring and thoughtfulness at a difficult time.
