High Heel Birthday Card

High Heel Birthday Card

I found this Dreaming Tree svg file called High Heel Greeting Card and decided to create it using similar colors as the sample.

The sample had foiled polka dots for the shoe, but since I didn’t have any foiled card stock that would work, I made my own using the Heart Grid Hot Foil Plate from Pinkfresh Studio, gold glimmer foil, black card stock, and the Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer System. I also used GKD Peach Bellini, SU Mint Macaron, and white card stock. All of the pieces were cut with my Silhouette die cutting machine.

The greeting is from the Floral Notes Stamp Set by Pinkfresh Studio and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The panel was then embossed with the Subtle EF (SU). The edges of this panel (and the flowers) were inked with GKD Tomato Soup ink.

Since much of the front of the card is “missing” where the shoe was cut, I was careful to keep my written message and signature towards the bottom so it stayed hidden when the card was closed.

This card is 3 1/2″ x 5″ (smaller than an A2 sized card). The file includes a decorative envelope, but I made a simple one using my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.

Holiday Handbag Gift Bag and Wallet

Holiday Handbag Gift Bag and Wallet

Happy New Year! December sure flew by quickly!! My husband and I were away for a week (we extended our stay in Florida for our niece’s wedding) and then had a houseful during the last two weeks of the year when our kids came home for Christmas. Fun times, but I’m just now getting back into my quiet routine!

I made several of these hand bags with wallets. I didn’t want to post them before I gifted them, and then time got away from me – lol!

This gift bag was made with my Silhouette and a file from the “Luxury Handbag SVG Kit” from SVGCuts. It’s a FREE kit and contains files to create 5 different hand bags and a card! (Mary is offering this file as part of her FREE lesson called “SVGCuts’ Cricut Design Space Guide” but could be used with any cutting machine.)

The 2-sided card stock I used is by American Crafts #368494 (no name given). Two brads were added to the handle.

I created a wallet for holding a monetary gift:

I used the “Money Wallet with Flap” file (#50423) by Jamie Lane Designs that I purchased from the Silhouette Store to create the wallet. The base was made with Core’dinations Chocolate Mousse card stock, and the decorative panels were made with “Christmas Swirls Red” (CB-003) by Reminisce. I added magnets to keep the wallet closed.

The wallet was placed inside the handbag along with other small purse-themed gifts (like a small hand mirror, tissue pack with zipper pouch, and a purse hook to name a few…)

Change up the paper, and this project works for any holiday or occasion!!

Santa and Friends Explosion Gift Box

Santa and Friends Explosion Gift Box

Here’s another explosion box with pockets on the inside for gifting cash or gift cards (or anything small and flat).

I used the CREAlies “Create A Box Large – Explosion (or not) box Large” die set (#CCABL27) to create the 3 3/4″ square box. For this one, I used red and green card stock along with card stock from several retired Recollections Christmas themed packs that I bought years ago.

Instead of the tree in the center (as I did on my previous sample), I left the inside clear of die cuts so I could include a small gift along with the monetary gifts.

Change up the paper, and this box could work for any occasion! And as I mentioned previously, this die set also comes with connectors to create a non-exploding, traditional box if desired.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I’d also like to take a moment to thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog and for all your support and encouragement this past year.  I really appreciate it!

Country Nativity Christmas Card

Country Nativity Christmas Card

(inside: A holiday wish to bring you Cheer, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!)

Back in July, I attended the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention in Lancaster, Pa, and I took a super fun class taught by Jennifer (from Stamplistic) where we played with Guilders Paste Wax. I love the metallic look achieved with this product and decided to use it to create the background for this Christmas card design.

The Christmas embossing folder used is unbranded, and the wax color is Foundry Bronze.

The focal stamp is called “Country Nativity” by Uptown Rubber Stamps (no longer available?). The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, was colored with Copic markers (E00, E18, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, E47, G29, Y23, B95, and B97), and was then embossed with the “Subtle” embossing folder from Stampin’ Up (retired). The inside stamp is called “Holiday wish to bring cheer greeting” by DRS Designs.

Nutmeg “History” Medallions Paper from the Indie Chic Collection by My Minds Eye (#IC0204) was used along with Recollections white and black.

The image used on this card is one I had used on a card I made (more than!) a few years back. At that time, I stamped a pile of panels with the intention of making several of that card design. I guess life got in the way, and the pile of uncolored images ended up in a “to be finished later” box. I ended up coloring them (now) the same way I had on that card, but I changed up the rest of the design using the background panels I created with my newly discovered wax. Good to finally finish those panels – lol!
