Blue Floral Thanks

Blue Floral Thanks

wDSC_2621

This CAS card features stamps from the “Greenhouse Garden – Two Step Stampin” set from Stampin’ Up (retired).  These are wood-mounted rubber stamps so I used a piece of acetate and a stamp positioner to get the layers to line up.  The greeting is from the “Fabulous Flowers” set (retired) from Gina K Designs.

Powder Blue ink and Blue Denim ink and card stock from Gina K Designs were used along with the white.

Thinking of You with Antique Leaf Label

Thinking of You with Antique Leaf Label

Thinking of You with Antique Leaf Label 1

(inside: praying for you)

Unfortunately, I needed several cards to send to people dealing with serious illness or loss. The “Antique Leaf Label” die from Memory Box creates a delicate leafy die cut with a small window/opening in which to stamp a greeting. I used this as the focal element for my cards.

I made the die cut into a sticker by adding Super Tacky Tape by Creek Bank Creations to the back of the white card stock before die cutting. This die cut is very thin and delicate and does not hold it’s shape well when trying to adhere it to the card so I created a template by positioning and cutting the image from a scrap of card stock that was the same size as my card front. I was able to place the template over the actual card panel and drop the die cut into the negative space on the template and shape it before sticking it down.

The greeting is from the “Little Branches” stamp set from Gina K Designs (retired?). I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The sentiment on the inside is from the “Moments of Grace” set from Simon Says Stamp.

The blue panel was made by smooshing violet and ultramarine blue Color Burst and water onto heavy weight white card stock.

The frame was created with the “Stately” embossing folder from Craft Concepts (no longer available?).

I had originally tried splattering white paint onto a gray panel:

I liked the way this came out, but I had trouble controlling the paint and made an absolute mess. (I ended up with one usable panel.) Love the look but need more practice with the technique!

Bougainvillea Anniversary Card

Bougainvillea Anniversary Card

This card features the Bougainvillea Print hot foil plate by Pinkfresh Studio (and Silver Glimmer Hot Foil) along with the coordinating Bougainvillea Print stencil set.

The greeting was cut from the “Mini Expressions – Happy Anniversary” die from Creative Expressions.

The stenciling was done with Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink, Gina K Designs Soft Stone, and GKD Moonlit Fog. Card stock is GKD Moonlit Fog and white. A score board was used to deboss the greeting panel. I was going for a soft, elegant, slightly monochromatic look, but it might have come out looking a bit flat. Hmmm…

Masculine Lines and Dots

Masculine Lines and Dots

vDSC_3850

(inside: Hope you have a wonderful day!)

This card features the Hero Arts “Line & Dot Pattern Bold Prints” background stamp (CG797) that I heat embossed in white on Gina K Designs Black Onyx card stock.  Then I added some Kuretake GANSAI TAMBI Water Color (No 90 Gold) which resisted the embossing but showed up nicely on the black.

The greeting is from the “Banners” stamp set from Joy! Crafts and was heat embossed in white as well.  The inside sentiment is from the “Happy Birthday to You” stamp set by Scrapbook.com (#sbc-ds19-23).

The water colored panel was mounted on a white mat and then on a black card base.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well this card stock held up with all the water that was added. I did use some extra adhesive to help flatten it out.  (I really should tape my panel down to a board when I water color!)

Welcome Baby Mobile and Quilt Cards

Welcome Baby Mobile and Quilt Cards

Two quick baby cards to share…

I used a few unbranded dies to cut the mobile and pierced circle on this first card.

The greeting was from the “Miniature Type” set from Clearly Besotted, was heat embossed in white, and was cut with a Stampin’ Up Word Window punch (retired).

Texture was added to the background with a Cuttlebug “Swiss Dots” embossing folder, and a Creative Memories corner rounder was used on all the corners.

Card stock was Ocean Tides (Papertrey Ink), Light Aqua Plaid (Core’dinations) and white. I used SU Mint Macaron ink for smooshing.

And for the second card:

This simple card features the “In A Word – Baby” die from Winnie & Walter (no longer available) and the “Quilt Blocks” embossing folder by Darice. The “welcome” is computer generated. The plaid paper was from my scrap drawer.
