Fore Your Birthday – Golf Themed Birthday Card

Fore Your Birthday – Golf Themed Birthday Card

(inside: wishing you a day filled with good things)

One of the things I really enjoy is browsing at designer scrapbook paper.  There are so many gorgeous patterns and prints available.   There was a scrapbook supply store called “Scrap and Beads” in Burlington, NJ that I visited every now and again, but unfortunately, the store is no longer in business. The store was filled with gorgeous paper that you don’t see in the big box stores near me.   On one of my visits, I found an amazing sheet of golf paper that I used to make this birthday card.

My card base (5×7) and mats are Gina K Edible Eggplant card stock.  The designer paper with the golfer image is called “Hole in One” (H10-1295) from the “Tee Off” collection by Moxie.  I also used some “Celtic Plaid” from the “Sham Rock Collection” by Reminisce.  The greeting is from the “On The Links” stamp set by Papertrey Ink, and the inside stamp, Wishing Good Things, is by Hero Arts.  Both were stamped with Gina K Edible Eggplant ink.  The golf bag charm was purchased online at AliExpress (HERE) and was attached with a circular clip and brad from my stash.

Golf Photo Note Cards

Golf Photo Note Cards

Golf Photo Note Cards

This card is part of a set of note cards that I made with photos I took at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pennsylvania.  These were made to sell as boxed sets at the annual Ladies’ Holiday Boutique and Luncheon that will be held at the club for the members in December.  (Thanks, Mom, for inviting me!)  In addition to the hand-made cards I will be selling, I thought it would be neat to create sets of photo note cards featuring scenery from their home course.

My dad drove me around the course on a golf cart while I snapped a ton of gorgeous shots (333 photos in all!!) – thanks Dad!  The hardest part was choosing which ones to use!  I ended up using 20 shots (divided into 2 sets) which includes all of the holes on the course.  I also made two bonus cards of their clubhouse (a front and back view) to give as a gift with the purchase of a set.

While I originally thought I’d make these cards as thank you notes, I decided to omit a greeting on the front so the cards would be suitable for any type of note.  I had the cards professionally printed on white card stock at a place in Cherry Hill, NJ called dpi Copies Printing & Grahpics, Inc.  (The cards look gorgeous in real life; what a difference professional printing makes!)

I purchased boxes online from BAGS Unlimited.  They have a wide variety of sizes from which to choose, include shipping in their listed prices, and deliver quickly.

Each box contains a sheet showing thumbnails of each of the cards and which hole is featured.

Golf Ball with Santa Hat

Golf Ball with Santa Hat

What’s black and white and red all over?  This card of a golf ball wearing a Santa hat, of course!  This is the second design in the series of golf-related holiday cards I made for the Rolling Green Golf Club’s Holiday Boutique and Luncheon.

The greeting stamp is from the “Winter Cheer” set by Gina K Designs.  The image stamps are called “Smile Ball” and “Santa Hat” from Cracker Box Palace.  (I masked the face and a portion of the top of the golf ball to add the hat.)

I purchased these stamps unmounted so I could use my MISTI for placement and to make it easier to make more than one card.  The images were stamped and colored with Memento tuxedo black ink and Copic Marker R59 on white card stock, mounted on Recollections black and then on a white card base.

The inside sentiment was computer generated and says, “and a happy new year.”

These clean and simple cards were designed to be made and packaged as boxed sets.

Golf Ball Snowman Holiday Card

Three stamps called “Golf Ball Snowman,” “Sand Snow Water Lines,” and “Vertical Happy Holidays” by DRS Designs  were used to create this holiday card that I made for the Rolling Green Golf Club’s Holiday Boutique and Luncheon (that I mentioned in my last post).

I used my MISTI for placement and to make it easier to make more than one card.  The images were stamped and colored with Memento tuxedo black ink and Copic Markers (R59, C2, and C4) on white card stock, mounted on Recollections black and then on a white card base.

The inside sentiment was computer generated and says “and a wonderful new year.”

This card was designed to be made and packaged as boxed sets.

Where has the time gone?!

Where has the time gone?!

I can’t believe the summer is over and fall is already here!  That went fast!!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here on my blog or since I’ve had a chance to check out all the projects that everyone has been working on.  I’ve been so busy (since May!) preparing for a craft show of sorts.  I was invited to participate in the annual Holiday Boutique at the Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, PA in December.  There will be a variety of vendors and a few crafters selling items for this event, and I will be selling boxed card sets, some single cards, and other paper-crafting projects. Since it is a holiday-themed event for the lady golfers at the club, I decided to primarily make Christmas/holiday and golf related projects.  I am creating some new projects as well as re-creating some of my past favorites, and I hope to start posting some of these projects soon.  (I need to put down my markers and stamps and start taking pictures!!)  Anyway, I just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know what I have been up to all summer and to explain why it might seem (at least here on my blog) like I’m doing nothing!

Thanks for checking out my post!
