Garden Swirls Sympathy Card

Garden Swirls Sympathy Card

I was inspired to create this “fractured card” design by Gerry who has posted quite a few. HERE is one of my favorites of hers! Thanks for the inspiration, Gerry!!

I decided to go with 1/8″ strips and a 1 3/4″ square for my greeting panel. The patterned paper I used is Addison Blue Garden Swirls (#643703) from K & C Company (which I’ve had in my stash for years) along with white and Recollections dark teal (?) textured card stock (no name). The greeting was cut with the “With Sympathy” die by My Craft Project. The white panel was embossed with the Subtle EF from Stampin’ Up (retired).

HERE is a video on how to make a fractured card.

Hearts Alive Valentine’s Day Card (and a few others)

Heart’s Alive Valentine’s Day Cards (and a few others)

(inside: Wishing you a Happy Day Happy Valentine’s Day)

This card features some pretty rose gold holographic card stock from DCWV and the “Hearts Alive Wafer Die” (#S419) from Simon Says Stamp. This die is fun because you can back it with any kind of paper or even make it into a shaker panel! Of course I had to add texture to the white with the Subtle embossing folder from Stampin’ Up (retired) which is, by far, my FAVORITE folder as I don’t have to spend extra on more expensive, textured card stock! I offset grey kraft card stock behind the white to create a bit of a shadow.

The inside sentiment came from two sets, the “Whimsical Wishes” set (retired?) from Gina K Designs and the “Miniature Type” set from Clearly Besotted, and was stamped with GKD Soft Stone ink.

I also came across a few cards I had made a while ago but never posted…

This super simple card design features the love frame die from Impressions Obsession (Die #124-Z) along with Core’dinations Kraft Small Dots (#320013) card stock, Recollections white card stock, Subtle Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up (retired), a Creatives Memories corner rounder, and a Computer Generated Greeting.

I added a layer of red to this one…

And finally…

This last one (5 1/2″ square) features a debossed panel made with the 5″ x 7″ Cuttlebug “Cross My Heart” embossing folder (no longer available) and an unmarked die I purchased on Amazon a while back. The same computer generated greeting was used as on the cards above.

Snow Much Love Birthday Card

Snow Much Love Birthday Card

(inside: Sending snow much love! Happy Birthday)

Today is Kelly, Kevin, and Keith’s 25th birthday – Happy Birthday!! (I am feeling a bit old – lol!)

I made these cards for them a few weeks ago when we had back-to-back snow storms (after two years of nothing!), and I was inspired to create a snow themed card! (Creating cute snowmen in the warmth of my craft room was so much more fun than shoveling!!)

This card design features a few different products from Creek Bank Creations. The snowman and the first part of the sentiment is from the Snowmania Stamp and Die Set (S23019). The glitter paper is Snowfall White. The pop-out panel on the inside was made with the mechanism from the Z Fold Accessory Die Set (D23012), and the scalloped and stitched squares were from the Blanket Stitched Panel Die set (D23049). Again, all from Creek Bank Creations.

Here’s a better look at the inside sentiment panel that pops up a bit when the card is opened:

Recollections Navy and white card stock were used along with various scraps from my stash. The Happy Birthday part of the sentiment is from the Dance Life set from Fun Stamper’s Journey (no longer available?). Gina K Designs Blue Denim and Memento Tuxedo Black inks were used for the stamping.

Z Fold cards display nicely and fold flat for mailing.

High Heel Birthday Card

High Heel Birthday Card

I found this Dreaming Tree svg file called High Heel Greeting Card and decided to create it using similar colors as the sample.

The sample had foiled polka dots for the shoe, but since I didn’t have any foiled card stock that would work, I made my own using the Heart Grid Hot Foil Plate from Pinkfresh Studio, gold glimmer foil, black card stock, and the Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer System. I also used GKD Peach Bellini, SU Mint Macaron, and white card stock. All of the pieces were cut with my Silhouette die cutting machine.

The greeting is from the Floral Notes Stamp Set by Pinkfresh Studio and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The panel was then embossed with the Subtle EF (SU). The edges of this panel (and the flowers) were inked with GKD Tomato Soup ink.

Since much of the front of the card is “missing” where the shoe was cut, I was careful to keep my written message and signature towards the bottom so it stayed hidden when the card was closed.

This card is 3 1/2″ x 5″ (smaller than an A2 sized card). The file includes a decorative envelope, but I made a simple one using my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.

Holiday Handbag Gift Bag and Wallet

Holiday Handbag Gift Bag and Wallet

Happy New Year! December sure flew by quickly!! My husband and I were away for a week (we extended our stay in Florida for our niece’s wedding) and then had a houseful during the last two weeks of the year when our kids came home for Christmas. Fun times, but I’m just now getting back into my quiet routine!

I made several of these hand bags with wallets. I didn’t want to post them before I gifted them, and then time got away from me – lol!

This gift bag was made with my Silhouette and a file from the “Luxury Handbag SVG Kit” from SVGCuts. It’s a FREE kit and contains files to create 5 different hand bags and a card! (Mary is offering this file as part of her FREE lesson called “SVGCuts’ Cricut Design Space Guide” but could be used with any cutting machine.)

The 2-sided card stock I used is by American Crafts #368494 (no name given). Two brads were added to the handle.

I created a wallet for holding a monetary gift:

I used the “Money Wallet with Flap” file (#50423) by Jamie Lane Designs that I purchased from the Silhouette Store to create the wallet. The base was made with Core’dinations Chocolate Mousse card stock, and the decorative panels were made with “Christmas Swirls Red” (CB-003) by Reminisce. I added magnets to keep the wallet closed.

The wallet was placed inside the handbag along with other small purse-themed gifts (like a small hand mirror, tissue pack with zipper pouch, and a purse hook to name a few…)

Change up the paper, and this project works for any holiday or occasion!!
