Three Tees with Pop-up Scene

(Inside: happy birthday today – happy times all year!)

In addition to the golf-themed card front, there is a fun scene on the inside!

For the front, I used the ball and tee image from the “Golf Ball Tee Trio A6 Card” by Heartsewn (Silhouette Store item #82551). The greeting was cut using the “Happy Birthday Friendship Script” die by Memory Box. Core’ dinations Green Plaid was layered on Recollections Christmas Green and a white card base. The corners were rounded with a Fiskars 1/4 inch corner rounder punch.

The 3D golf scene on the inside of this card was created with elements from the “Shadow Box Card Golf Cart” file (Silhouette Store item #348019) and the “Pop Up Box Card Golf” file (Silhouette Store item #148379), both by Lori Whitlock. I used dies from the “Bam Box Pop-up” set (#1222) by Karen Burniston for the pop-up mechanism behind the cart and for the layered scalloped octagons.

The cardstock for the inside was Recollections Christmas Green, Grey Kraft, Kraft, white, and black, along with a scrap of lighter green and a blue index card I had in my stash. The sentiment is from the “Birthday Best” set by Stampin’ Up (retired) and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Golf Scene Father’s Day Card

(inside: You’re Tee-rific!)

This post is a little late, but…

I found this digital paper of a water colored golf scene and thought it would make a nice Father’s Day card front.

The digital paper was from a file called Golf Clipart Bundle by LunaSkyeFinds that I purchased on Etsy.

To jazz it up a bit, I cut the panel with the Die-Namics “Framed Greetings Cover-up” die (discontinued?) from My Favorite Things, making sure to keep all the cut out pieces along with the frame so the pieces could be re-inserted back into the holes. I cut a few more of the frames from white card stock as well and stacked them with the printed frame piece on top. I then filled in the “holes” with the cut out pieces.

I decided to leave the front as is with no greeting; it’s on the inside…

The pop-up golf ball greeting panel was made with a circle die and a dots embossing folder (debossed side) for the dimples. The greeting was from a die set that included the shadow and words. The pop-up mechanism behind the ball was created with a die from the “Mini Pops Pop-up” set (#2246) from Karen Burniston. The stamp is from the “On the Links” set from Papertrey Ink (retired?). GKD Christmas Pine card stock and ink along with white were also used. I left lots of room for a handwritten message.

By using the layered cover die on the front and the pop-up element on the inside, I was able to make a simple card design a bit more interesting.

Sadly, I made this card for my dad, and while he did see it, he passed away the day before Father’s Day. It was sudden and unexpected, and he will truly be missed.

Mother’s Day Flower Pot Card

(a blast from the past…)

This card was made using an SVG file called Mother’s Day Flower Pot Card that I purchased from SVGCuts eons ago. It was one of the first “more involved” cards I made using an svg file and my electronic die cutting machine (back in May 2011).

I chose a few different colors of card stock – 5 for the flowers and banner and 3 more for the leaves and pot. After my machine cut out all the pieces, I grabbed a dowel for shaping the blooms, a few gems, and my glue, and this card came together pretty easily! (Lots of pieces and a bit of time, but not hard at all.) If I were to make this again, I might even take the time to ink the edges of the die cuts…

My mother had saved hers (this one) in its envelope so I was able to get a photo of it to share here. Surprisingly, it did not flatten in the mail (or in storage for years!), and I remember my mother-in-law was amazed that hers “actually stood up” – lol! 

I was a little surprised that I hadn’t posted this here earlier, but I thought the file was worth sharing. (This project was originally posted in my StampTV gallery.  Sadly, this site is no longer active.)

Pink and Gray Baby Carriage Card

This card features the “Fancy Baby Carriage” from Cottage Cutz and a greeting from the “Itty Bitty Basics” stamp set from My Favorite Things.

Recollections white and Grey Kraft card stock was used along with April Lovely (textured pink) from Core’dinations. Ink was “Stormy Sky” from Gina K Designs. Recollections pearls were added to the carriage die cut. The inside sentiment was from the Stampin’ Up “Cuddles & Kisses” stamp set (retired?).

Egg Basket Frame Easter Card

As I mentioned in a recent post, last October I participated in the Simon Says Stamp HDSA Fundraiser by purchasing a Crafty Parcel (a mystery box full of great craft supplies) which also included the Memory Box Egg Basket Frame die set (#94235) that I used on this card.

When I first saw this die set in the box, I thought it was one piece and immediately thought of Easter. But what is great about this set is that there are 3 different dies that can be used separately.  There are so many possibilities for the floral frame, and the basket would be super cute for a baby card…with flowers… Looking forward to playing with this set some more!

One quick comment on the basket die – When you run this die through your machine, the basket comes out flat. You can leave it like that, but if you want the embossed basket weave texture, you will need to leave the die cut in the die (or reinsert it back into the die) and run it through a second time with a rubber embossing mat. (This is what I did.) I also saw someone online say she embossed the basket by using a stylus to trace all the rectangles while the die cut was still in the die which is an option if you don’t have a rubber embossing mat. And a final option is to use the die as a stencil and ink on the basket weave design.

In addition to the set, I also used one of the bunnies from the “Bunny Trio Set” (D1-0545) from Fun Stampers Journey/Spellbinders (no longer available?) and the “Splendid Happy Easter Die” (#2462) from Poppy Stamps.

The patterned paper is “Antique Brocade” from the Paper Studio. The card stock is “Lemon Drop” from Gina K Designs, “Elegance” by Core’dinations, “Velvet” (deep purple) by American Craft, and white.

The inside sentiment is a stamp called “Warm Wishes” (F2619) by Printworks (no longer available?).

My finished card is 4 1/2 inch square.
