Lucky Me Mother’s Day Card

This card features a stamp from the “Eight Great Greetings” set from Stampin’ Up (retired) which I stumbled upon while browsing on ebay. This stamp made me chuckle because it is so true! It’s a good thing my mom is awesome – lol!!

After embossing the background panel with the “Floral Border” embossing folder by Darice, I added ink to the raised flowers and dots using two “Fantastix” coloring tools by Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts. For the swirls and leaves, I created a mask and dabbed on the ink with a “Foam Ink Pod” by Darice. (A Fantastix could have been used for the swirls and leaves as well, but I kept getting ink where I didn’t want it and found the mask and pods easier to control for these larger areas. Yeah, several early attempts ended up in the trash…)

The two stamps used for the inside sentiment are unmarked red rubber stamps. I think I purchased them at Michaels years ago, but they are not on their site now.

The inks used were Gina K Designs Peach Bellini, Sweet Corn, and Fresh Asparagus. I also used a Copic Marker (R21) for the flower on the greeting panel. The clear sequins and pierced circle die were unbranded.

Plaid and Purple Easter Card

My sister, brother and I used to color eggs for Easter at my grandmother’s house every year, and I continued the tradition with my own children years later. This cute plaid pattern is similar to what they looked like when we were done – just kidding!! The colors were similar at least…

I used an egg shaped die to create the frame and placed the plaid patterned paper behind the hole. The greeting pieces were cut twice and offset slightly. I added a few more layers, and this card was complete.

The purple gingham paper was from the “Gingham Digital Paper” set from Striped Elephants, and the plaid was from the “Easter Stripes, Dots & Plaids” digital set from JoDittDesigns – both from Etsy. I also used white and Wild Lilac card stock from Gina K Designs.

The inside sentiment is from “Just Sentiments: Easter” from Papertrey Ink.

I went with a simple design and traditional colors on this 4 1/2 inch square Valentine’s Day card.

The beautiful hanging hearts die cut was made with the “Frame Love” die by Scrap Man. I made the die cut into a sticker by adding Super Tacky Tape by Creek Bank Creations to the back of the red card stock before die cutting. The die cut was adhered to a white panel embossed with the “Subtle” embossing folder from Stampin’ Up.

This die cut is very thin and delicate and does not hold it’s shape well when trying to adhere it to the card so I created a template by positioning and cutting the image from plain white card stock that was the same size as my card front. I was able to place the template over the actual card panel and drop the die cut into the negative space on the template and shape it before sticking it down. 

The greeting is from the “Miniature Type” stamp set by Clearly Besotted. It was heat embossed with white embossing powder and cut with a die from the “Sentiment Strips” die set from Photoplay. The sentiment on the inside is from the “One in a Million” set from Gina K Designs (retired?).

If mailed in a square envelope, this card would have required a trip to the post office so I used a regular A2 size envelope. It was a little too big for the card but much easier!

Back to some basic stamping…

This card features a stamp from the “Better With You” set from Gina K Designs (retired?).

The pink and gray plaid digital paper is from the “Valentine Plaid Mini Pack 1” by TLPrintableDesigns that I purchased on Etsy. I paired it with gray card stock from the “Cool Waters” card stock pack by Recollections and Cranberry Tart by Gina K Designs.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers (B45, Y17, R56, C5, E70, And E71). The panel was then cut with the circle die from the “Snow Globe Gumball Machine Die” set by Creek Bank Creations. (Any circle die would have worked; this set was on my desk from another project.) Once the panel was colored, I embossed it with the “Subtle” embossing folder from Stampin’ Up. (I used this same folder to emboss the plaid panel as well.)

The gray mat was cut with a die from the “Stitched Circles” set from Gina Marie Designs.

The greeting was from the “Miniature Type” stamp set by Clearly Besotted and was cut with a die from the “Sentiments Strips” set by Photoplay. The inside sentiment is from the “My Little Bear Hearts for You” set by Scrapberry’s.

I made gumball machine shaker cards for my kids for Valentine’s day, and the “gumballs” are mini m&m’s. This fun card design was made with the “Snow Globe Gumball Machine” die set from Creek Bank Creations. As the product title suggests, this one set contains elements to create either a snow globe or a gumball machine. (Their video tutorial shows how this shaker card was made.)

The m&m’s are fun to shake, but they are also yummy to eat! When you open the card, you will find a zip strip that enables you to tear open the panel behind the gumball machine to get to the candy. How fun is that?! Creek Bank Creations has a zip strip die, but I already owned the “Essential Sentiment Rip Strips Die-namics” die set by My Favorite Things so I used that one instead. I stamped “open” on the strip using a stamp from the “Push Here” set from Lawn Fawn.

To cut the acetate for the shaker window, I used a die from the “Standard Circles Small” set from Spellbinders. I used pre-cut self adhesive foam rings from Creekbank Creations to create the shaker “resevoir” but forgot that I needed a double layer for each card to accomodate the thickness of the m&m’s and had not ordered enough. I ended up cutting my own foam rings for the last card from foam sheets with a die from the “Stitched Circle Ring Die Set” – both also from Creek Bank Creations. (I used a Copic Marker (C7) to color the edges of the foam so it blended in from the side.)

The red on red heart paper is from the “Happy Anniversary” digital paper pack by PrtSkinDigital that I purchased on Etsy. The light gray card stock is Bazzill Tiara, and the dark gray is from the “Cool Waters” pack by Recollections. I also used silver mirror card stock by Gift Boutique.
