A Merry Little Wish

A Merry Little Wish

A Merry Little Wish wDSC_1995.jpg

(inside: for lots of joy at Christmas)

The layout for this card was inspired by this sketch from Mojo Monday:

Mojo Monday 462

The stamped images are from the “Festival of Trees” set (retired?) from Stampin’ Up.  The Christmas tree was stamped with Gina K Kraft ink and the greeting with Charcoal Brown.

The card base and all the mats are Recollections Kraft card stock.  The inside panel is Gina K Designs Sandy Brown.  All the patterned papers are by “The Paper Studio” from Hobby Lobby – Gold Wedding Stripes, Gold Wedding Ornate, Gold Wedding Texture, and Antique Brocade.

The circles were cut with dies from the Spellbinders “Standard Circles” (large and small) sets.  I created cut files for the tree and its mat which were cut on my Silhouette.  I used a personal trimmer for the rest of the panels.

I made boxed sets of this card design.  A lot of cutting and pasting!!

Warm Wishes

(inside: …for a wonderful holiday!)

Here’s another of the coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate…) themed stamps I ordered last week.

This holiday card features the “Warm Wishes” stamp from Neat and Tangled and the glittered patterned paper called “Falala Christmas” by Best Creation Inc.

The image was heat embossed with versamark ink and Gina K white embossing powder.  In addition to the striped glitter card stock, I also used Scarlet Jewel and Soft Stone card stock from Papertrey Inc.

The inside sentiment was stamped with PTI Scarlet Jewel ink.  The stamp was custom made at rubberstamps.net.

I made boxed sets of this card design.

Joy to the World

(inside: May the blessings of Christmas be with you all through the year.)

The background frame is from the “Inspiration Mosaic” stamp set from Gina K Designs.  The nativity stamp (EE0145) is by Prickley Pear, and the Greeting is by Momenta (20685R7).  All images were heat embossed with Versamark ink and Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder on Gina K Ivory card stock.  This panel was mounted on a Kraft card base (Recollections).  The inside sentiment is from the “Christmas Blessings” set by Our Daily Bread and was stamped with Gina K Kraft ink on an ivory panel.

I used my MISTI to line up the stamps and to make sure I got good stamped images for the front of my card and was able to make multiples for boxed sets.

Christmas Blessings

Christmas Blessings

A Blessed Christmas wwwDSC_2012

(inside: Wishing you a Christmas season full of peace, goodwill, and joy!)

I started off thinking I wanted to use browns and blues for my color palette and thought the idea of a wood print background might be nice to create a rustic feel.  (Wood.. stable…that’s where my mind was on this one.)  Anyway, I saw several wood print backgrounds in my travels, but this one with the turquoise and brown really caught my eye.  I told myself that turquoise is kind of blue (for Mary) and kind of green (for Christmas), and I often see people use non-traditional colors, so I decided to go for it. Still trying to decide if I like it for a Christmas card…..

The stamped image and greeting are from the “A Blessed Christmas“set by Paper Smooches. I stamped the holy family on white card stock and the greeting on Darice Picket Fence with Gina K Charcoal Brown ink.  I colored the image with Copic markers (Mary: BG15; Faces: E53; Joseph: E57; Jesus and Headband: E55) and hand cut it out with scissors.  To make them more rustic looking, I stamped over the colored image and greeting panel with the texture stamp from the Gina K Designs “Frame & Filler” set (retired?) and Kraft ink.

The inside sentiment is from the “Christmas Blessings” set by Our Daily Bread and was stamped on Gina K Sandy Beach card stock with Charcoal Brown ink.

The circle panels were cut with Spellbinders circle dies (from the Large and Small sets).  The small circle was cut from the Picket Fence card stock and stamped with the Stampin’ Up “Cheesecloth” background stamp and Kraft ink.  The large circle (and all the mats and card base) are Recollections Kraft card stock.

The music notes panel is “Tiny Music – Teal (518068)” by the Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.  I stamped the holly over the music print with Stampin’ Up Lost Lagoon ink using the stamp from the Sizzix/Hero Arts “Stamp & Emboss Holly Background 657769” set.

The wood print paper is called “Petite Wood Fence – Turquoise (1145234)” by the Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.

I inked the edges of all of the panels with Gina K. Charcoal Brown ink.

Nativity Paperscape Box Card

Nativity Paperscape Box Card

Nativity Paperscape Box Card zzzDSC_1267

This large box card (9 3/4 x  8 1/8 inches when flattened) was made from a file called Nativity Paperscape Box Card SVG by Dreaming Tree (3dsvg.com) which is the company founded in 2015 by Leo Kowal (former co-founder of svgcuts).  They offer svg files (that can be cut with an electronic die cutting machine) for a lot of amazing projects with tutorials to make assembly a breeze.

Like most box cards, it has a box-like frame with several panels layered inside.  This one is a little different in that it is more rectangular than square and that all the panels are completely inside the box and do not extend over the top.  As I mentioned above, this is a pretty large card. An envelope made to fit this card is included with the file.  The card is 3 dimensional when opened and folds flat for storage or for mailing.

A greeting and sentiment can be stamped, printed, or written on the back.  There is a place cut out in the back to place a battery operated tea light if desired.  The photo above has a white light behind it. Below is a photo of the card with no light added:

And here is another photo of the card in the dark with a blue tea light:

So many ways to display it!!

I used basic white card stock for the base and panels.  The printed card stock is called Holly Berries from the Holly Jolly collection by My Mind’s Eye.  The background panel is Moonlit Fog card stock by Gina K Designs.

What I love about this project is that is can be a card or a decoration – or both!
