Foiled Merry Christmas in Red and Green

This 5×7 inch card features digital paper/images I purchased on Etsy. The Merry Christmas with Holly (LL 048 B) panel was a vector file from the Christmas/Winter collection by Lyrical Letters. The background panel is image #6 from the Black Floral Papers digital paper pack by Chili Papers.

There is incredible shine as the light hits the card when you move it around.

Etsy is a great place to find material suitable for foiling. I usually put black and white digital paper (with a key word like Christmas or swirls, etc.) in the search bar, and a bunch of choices pop up. I always check the terms of use for each file I am considering to see if it is for single use (I avoid these), personal use, or small commercial use (my preference). What I like about these files is that once I own them, I can size them as I wish and use them again and again. I purchased an inexpensive monochromatic (black and white) laser printer and print my own panels, but you can also have them printed at an office supply store that has laser printers.

I wanted to go with two colors for the Merry Christmas panel, so I put a scrap of plain paper over the holly leaves when I ran the panel through my mini minc machine with Gina K Designs/Therm O Web Fancy Foils – Red Velvet, and then I removed the mask and ran it through again with American Crafts Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Foil – Green. (Once a portion of the image is foiled in one color, it will not react with foil of a different color. The foil only reacts with exposed toner so all the previously foiled red was unaffected.) This green foil was also used to foil the back panel. These were matted on Gina K Cherry Red card stock and a Papertrey Ink white card base.
